Oil painting has always been one of the most favorite types of art forms, since its introduction in the Renaissance. Oil painting offers the possibility of a great deal of versatility, as it can be used as in the thick impasto or very little like the enamel.
The ensuing discussion provides 7 superior painting techniques. Let’s see.
Creating the basic structure. All forms in a painting are created from the base in five ways: Sphere, Cone, Cylinder, Cube, and the donut-shaped Torus.
Color fusion. The gradual transition from one color to another oil painting is called fusion. As oil paintings take time to dry, wet oil paint is easy to move on the canvas. This easy movement of wet paint on canvas, makes it easy to merge. The brush is dragged back and forth between colors until the appropriate mixing is achieved.
Color Matching. The artist handles the colors with the help of a color wheel. The color wheel, an essential tool for color matching, is a circle, that supports 7 colors of the rainbow. It was agreed with yellow, the color of lighter value in the upper and violet, the darkest color, at the bottom. The band of colors on a color wheel are divided into Warm colors like yellow-orange, orange, red-orange, red, and red-violet, and Cool colors yellow-green, green, blue-green, blue and blue-violet.
Contrast. The correlation between the lightest light and dark shades in a painting is called contrast. The color representation of Black and White mixing to create grays make up the value scale. The distances between the values in the value chain decides contrast levels.
Texture. This is another important factor in painting. It is clear from the transition from light to shadow. The sharpness of care in an image determines the smoothness of the object. The same object can have a better texture in direct light than in a shadow.
Glaze. Transparent layers are called glaze. The enamel is a thin, see-through color, used over another dry color to create a third color. Glazes always makes the color darker. Translucent layers in the oil painting are called Wash. Wash is a thin opaque color used over another dry color.
Shadow. The shadows are of three types, Shadow, Cast Shadow, and the Proximity of Shadows. Dark shadow creates an object called a shadow. Cast Shadow is the absence of light caused by the object in your environment. It is easily identified and focuses mainly near the source. The proximity is the shadow of the shadow that is formed when objects touch. This is considered the darkest part of an oil painting.
