Is it possible to remove the wrinkles from the oil painting on canvas?
I recently purchased a beautiful (but very large), oil painting. The upper right corner is wrinkled just below the frame. You can not see the wrinkles in the day but at night when the lights shine on the canvas it is very noticeable. I would fix it myself, but do not know how to stretch the canvas. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
An experienced framer can stretch it for you. We took the fabric mat and a foamcore mounting machine vacuseal without heat. The machine takes 28 pounds of pressure of the machine that sucks the canvas and acid free adhesive bonds down. The wrinkles are gone.
